First time this has happened to me hiking. Kind of got lost. Had to use the GPS on my phone constantly during the first mile or two of the hike. Often took the wrong trail (they were not marked). This was supposed to be a loop, but when I got to the area where the trail should have looped back. I couldn’t find it. Looking at my GPS (alltrails.com) and following their red trail line, I ended up in the middle of the forest…no trail to be seen. So I back tracked and found a shortcut back to my destination. My phone was so low in batteries, my photos end where I couldn’t find the rest of the trail.

Sounds like you need a solar phone charger.
I actually have a charger that is now part of what I carry in my backpack after that incident. Had it on my last hike…didn’t need it….but forgot a charging cord. Will add that for the next hike.
P.S. Beautiful photos. Thanks.
